VASS National Conference 2010
We are now calling for papers for our national
conference which will be held in Auckland on 23-24 June.
The conference theme is “Allies and Collaborators”.
The conference seeks to explore these concepts on a
variety of levels, including:
1. The concept of service providers as the allies
of the people they support (and their families) and what
this means for the nature of the support they provide,
and the relationship between ‘provider’ and ‘client’.
2. The increasing call for social service agencies
to collaborate, with a focus on:
-
the concept of collaboration
-
how service providers can collaborate with
each other and
-
how we can create better opportunities and
outcomes for people with disabilities by
collaborating and engaging with a wide
range of partners and agencies in the wider
community, e.g. other
health and social services, schools, education
providers, local councils, businesses,
government agencies, etc.
We welcome papers from anyone who has knowledge
to share or who wishes to host a conversation or
‘think tank’ on a topic related to the theme
that they would like to explore further.
