‘We work with disabled and/or disadvantaged
individuals to develop their skills and abilities to contribute to
their communities’.
Gracelands purchased Insight Ltd because of its wide accreditation
in disability and healthcare, and because Insight has historically
offered programmes that have led to employment in the Care &
Support Sector. Gracelands recognised that recruiting, training,
developing and retaining quality staff is a key challenge for all
providers within the care & support sector to ensure that services
are provided to the highest level.
Many people working in the Care & Support Sector
do not have
relevant qualifications, and the key focus for Gracelands through
Insight will be the development of educational opportunities for
these workers to be upskilled whilst in employment.
Insight also offers Training Opportunities and Youth Training
Programmes. These programmes offer unit standards and some
National Certificates in the Care & Support Sector
and the Early Childcare Sector. Other
educational opportunities include achieving the National
Certificates in Educational Achievement and Employment Skills. These basic
‘employment focused’ programmes could lead to work in the Care &
Support Sector, however students often progress to other
employment opportunities as best suit their abilities and goals.
The individualised learning pathways Insight Learning Academy
provides are linked to the National Qualifications Framework .
These pathways meet the learning needs of students and enhance
their future ability to integrate socially and productively into
the economy.
Insight Learning Academy has been registered by the New Zealand
Qualifications Authority as a multi-site Private Training
Establishment and accredited since 1991 to deliver
unit standards and National Certificate qualifications from the
National Qualifications Framework. Insight currently operates from
three sites – Hamilton (main office), Paeroa and New Plymouth.

Cultural Integrity
Insight is committed to strengthen its ties with the local
Maori communities at its three sites and to obtain
feedback from them as to the needs of the local Maori
community and how best to ensure Maori participation in
the educational opportunities offered.
Insight Learning Academy delivers student centred
education and training with a high level of personal
support for the participants in our programmes and also in
our workplace training in the Care & Support Sector.
Insight provides a supportive learning opportunity that
acknowledges the diversity of participants’ cultural and
family backgrounds, and responds to individual learning
styles and potentialities. This, along with our emphasis
on relationship building between student and tutor, one to
one support, needs assessment and pathway planning,
ensures success. |
